Episode Summary – Summer House Season 1, Episode 7: “Hoedown Showdown”

In this Summer House Season 1 Episode 7 recap, it’s Lindsay’s 30th birthday, and while she’s claiming to be “single and 30,” Everett’s surprise appearance says otherwise. The episode kicks off in the city with Carl finally realizing – after six weeks – that maybe he shouldn’t treat Lauren like a hookup (growth?). Back in Montauk, the house preps for Lindsay’s hoedown-themed bash, but the real drama hits when Carl shows up with two uninvited girls for the weekend. Lauren is livid, the girls get labeled with some not-so-friendly nicknames, and Carl couldn’t care less. Meanwhile, Kyle is living his best costume-party life and apparently forgetting his one-night stand’s name. Classic Kyle.

As the drama spills over into the next day, Everett and Carl hit the driving range for some bro talk. Stephen, ever the quiet observer, drops a truth bomb – Everett spent the previous weekend with four other women, a detail Lindsay learns only after publicly declaring their relationship back on track. Lauren continues her “away game” streak, leaving Carl both curious and confused. And in the background? Christina’s getting ambushed by Carl’s mystery guests over yesterday’s “hooker” comment, Lauren’s distancing herself fast, and Stephen is quietly navigating family rejection with surprising vulnerability. Honestly, this birthday party had more plot twists than a Bravo reunion special.

Who We Are: Last to the Party, But First in Your Bravo Queue

We’re Megan and Wendy – real-life best friends and seasoned podcasters. Our podcast Last to the Party was born out of a long-winded, laugh-filled debate about Summer House Season 9 during one of our monthly Pop Culture Club episodes on Patreon. And suddenly a lightbulb went off – why not start a Summer House rewatch podcast?

Wendy is our resident Bravo historian – she’s been here since the early days of Real Housewives and can recall every iconic feud, unforgettable quote, and off-camera drama like she’s flipping through a well-worn scrapbook. Her deep knowledge adds the context and expert insight that makes each rewatch richer.

Megan, on the other hand, is a little newer to the Bravo universe. She’s dipped in and out over the years – maybe a season here, a franchise there – but her fresh perspective and candid reactions bring the kind of delightful surprises and unexpected laughs that even longtime fans will love.

Together, we’ve spent over 15 years creating content side by side, most recently as the duo behind the hit podcast Girls Gone Hallmark. With Last to the Party, we’re channeling that same natural chemistry and unfiltered commentary into the world of Bravo.
